Winning Votes

Opinion & Analysis:What Pres. Bush has to do to Win Votes

By Ted Weaver
6/10/2004

The President is going to have to come out swinging. And I mean engage on every level.

In my opinion, Sen. Kerry is by no means qualified or even remotely close to being qualified to be President of the U.S. . He is one of those liberal guys, who has sat in the upper echelon of the federal government as a Senator for last 30 years for which he participated in and unknowingly allowed numerous spies and terrorist to infiltrate the upper levels of the federal government, steal our latest technology, steal our security information and in some cases utilize it against us such as that occurred prior to 9/11. Quite frankly, however nice a person he may seem to be, I personally believe that Sen. John Kerry is a national security risk and naive.

I heard what former Senator Robert Dole had to say about starting the 2004 presidential elections so early and for all to “give it a rest“. You don’t win elections being lethargic and being a nice guy and expect everyone else to win it for you. The bottom line is I disagree.

The time has come to build a fire under the backside of the RNC. Perhaps they have become too comfortable in their cushy jobs. This is Karl Rove’s responsibility. Everyone should be fired up by now. There should be more media contacts. Not just using the “old buddy system” which will fail the president if this isn’t changed. They lack the “eye of the tiger”.

Earlier in the year, the democrats cried foul when the 2004 Bush/Cheney election campaign utilized pictures and video clips of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on our country. Why did it affect them so much, I’ll tell you why. Because the ads were extremely effective. It definitely touched a nerve or two somewhere along the line. And that line was the fact for the previous 8 years, the former Clinton administration allowed terrorist and spies to enter our country at will and right through the borders right in front of everyone including Sen. Kerry who failed in his responsibility to protect the country and then Sen. Kerry has the nerve to run for President. And a domestic intelligence service is not the answer. Border protection is. Keep the gates protected and the spies and terrorist out. Its just that simple, but that was too difficult for Sen. Kerry to comprehend at the time. Would any reasonable person want him to be president?

Like I said before, 3 plus years ago, it wasn’t the RNC or the Bush/Cheney campaign who won the election in 2000, it was a team effort and it was the activist who were leading the charge and the people in the trenches who won it.

Some serious changes need to be made and now is the time. Empower the people, empower the activist and see they have the resources needed to win it. The polls speak for themselves and I am one who is not in a state of denial.

The question is simple, if you are a terrorist who would you vote for: John Kerry or President George W. Bush?
