Trappings and Poisonings

By Ted Weaver

11/08/2002

The 2002 mid-term election campaign was a historical precedent setting victory not only for the Republican party, but most importantly, the American people. What I think this amounts to is a vote of confidence for President Bush and the administration's policies, and I think the American people have clearly spoken on election night. Though the President doesn't like to take all of the credit, and rightly so.

I personally was very impressed about how hard the President campaigned, and I don't think he was only just being a buddy bumping GOP party man. Its because he believes in his policies that he thinks are the most important to this country. One of the most important for example is the Homeland security bill. Of course, the economy is on the list for which the President believes is a top priority too as he has indicated. Obviously, both of these policies work hand in hand. Can't have one without the other.

The 2002 mid-term election has shown the American people have put the trust and faith in the Presidents hands. I personally believe this man will use it wisely, reasonably and keeping in mind the best interest of the American people and the U.S. Constitution first. If I didn't believe this, I wouldn't say it.

What I think one has to be vigilant about is a divisive nature of those in the left wing and some others, including those in the liberal media. They can be a very premeditated and divisive group and most often are wrong and resort to character - poisoning. Some become jealous over alliances, others over the existence of the natural relationships (ideologies) between the President and the conservative wing of the party. There is nothing wrong with that. After all, the President is a conservative.

Just because the 2002 election went well for the GOP, doesn't mean the policy war is over. The lib's won't ever give up. Right or wrong, they think they are always right. That is the scary part. That is called fanaticism. Blinded by their own lust for power without reason.

One other subject of importance I think should be mentioned. This thing about the Bush administration dancing all over civil liberties. A claim most often mentioned by those seeking to create divisions within the unity of America for political advantage. 9/11 was a horrific experience. It was for all of those both inside and outside of government - for all Americans. But when this nation is under attack by foreign elements from within, things will happen to protect the national security of the homeland. Which is paramount

Paranoia can play mean tricks on the mind. As this wasn't just a one party policy adventure. Sen. Daschele and other Democrats were (are) into it just as much as anyone else was (is) in the leadership levels of our government. A case in point, the anthrax investigation fiasco by helping to be orchestrated by none other than Clintonites and democrats looking for an adventure into paranoid driven political conspiratorial motives.
