Saddam Shows His Hand  - Again

By Ted Weaver

Saddam Hussein would surely make a terrible poker player. Obviously, he reveals that he wants to damage the U.S. economy -again.. He thinks he can rally support from other oil producing Arab nations -to put the squeeze on the United States.. Using oil as a weapon.

Driving wedges -his tactics over the last 10 years. Bargaining and buying influence. Offering other countries and their leaders -lucrative business deals. This is all part of his overall strategy. What he is doing is paying his way around. Simply put, he is buying his way out of his box.

Here is a so-called leader of a country , who has used chemical weapons on his own people, including women, children and men. Also, for four long years -right under the noses of the UNSCOM weapons inspectors -he continued to operate and expand his bio-weapons program and production of them. You can bet, that there is a lot more than what was found on that little chicken farm, his former -dead son in law revealed..

This son-of-a-bitch is never going to quit trying to cause harm to the United States. His actions speak loudly and clearly.

What is shocking to me is how some of these other countries are willing to do business with this jerk. I just can't imagine why after all of the trouble and deaths he has caused everywhere in the world, why anyone would want to do business with him. Perhaps bad and non-existent policy over the last eight years of the Clinton administration tip toe through the tulips approach helped to facilitate saddams strategy.

Saddam has just recently -openly in full public view - increased his paid stipend to the families of suicide terrorist. This payment that he makes to each suicide terrorist family isn't just for helping out to buy food and shelter - it may look that way - but its intended strategy is to increase the number of suicide terrorist willing to kill others. That is the exact reason for his payments to them.. This is rock solid proof for his support of terrorism. Talk about a smoking gun! What  more proof does anyone want.

Israel has every right to defend itself from terrorism. Negotiations won't work. They haven't in all of these years so what would make it any different now. Arafat is nothing more than a figure head who is deeply indebted to other Arab leaders like Saddam Hussein and Syria's Assad. He may look like a leader to the common Palestinian, but in reality is nothing more than a washed up rebel rouser. The Palestinians need a new and real leader -not a stooge.

The only way to fight terrorism is to take the war right to them. Israel is doing the right thing by cleaning some clocks. Actually, I'm surprised they haven't done this long before.

Negotiations with Arafat would only have a temporary and minimal impact on terrorism in Israel. There is just too much outside influence. I think Hezbollah and Syria is more of a factor in this than most know. For many years they have been supplying the radical Palestinians with arms and explosives. Israel needs the time to finish the job. I hope they get it..
